Integral Life currently seeks a Managing Editor, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a primary leader in guiding content for the leading integral content company in the world.

The right candidate has a unique set of skills: deep editorial expertise, long-term strategic vision, exceptional management discipline, high emotional intelligence, and stable integral cognition and sense of self (evidenced by an integral life practice). This role will be very challenging because of the multitude of perspectives and platforms through which content and conversation is enabled at Integral Life. Familiarity with integral theory is required, as is a deep understanding of how to translate advanced theoretical concepts into relevant, “beginner’s mind” coaching-style editorial content. Demonstrated past career experience in doing is a must.

The role includes creating innovative and educational programming for Integral Life by building and leading a content team that transforms our extensive media archive into relevant featured editorials that respond to our members’ preferences for compelling, useful, nourishing, and actionable content features and elements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Together with Editorial Team, establish the editorial calendar and ongoing voice for Integral Life.
• Lead a team that plans and creates compelling, useful, nourishing, actionable content features and elements—including, but not limited to: weekly featured editorials, video and audio context pieces, integral engagement paths, polls, community, and content databases.
• Manage a team of editors; develop integration plans for new packages, products, and features; communicate constantly with members to evaluate relevance of content; run weekly editorial, metrics review and copy review meetings; co-develop editorial calendar; establish and implement integration plans for video, community, magazine, and other products and platforms; work with technology team to schedule new page builds and ensure deadlines are being met; help drive editorial specifications for new projects; identify instructional models and use cases for the editorial

Candidates must have:

• BA/BS in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications or similar.
• 10+ years experience editing for successful publications, including content-based web sites.
• Exceptional copy-writing skills and a mind for what works online.
• Experience managing an in-house and outsourced editorial team.
• Familiarity with integral theory and applications.
• Superior focus and attention to detail; excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment.
